Blind Bonita

Bonita (34) can sing like an angel, is a short-story writer of considerable talent and a champion Navigator in the Blind Navigator Regularity Rallies (only in South Africa). She loves motorcycle riding (as pillion !), and she can play various musical instruments.
And Bonita is blind.

Her Optical Nerve was damaged during her birth or it did not develop fully. She can distinguish between light and dark only. She is my friend.
Once on her mobile I heard her say to a fellow blindy ‘If God could only let me see mountains one time, he could take my eyes away again afterwards’ .
It shattered me. To be able to see we all take for granted. Close your eyes and imagine her life.
Still – she is happy with her fate, and is always friendly and bouncy.
I searched the internet and found one Doctor in the world that could perhaps help her see one day - Dr. Anton Fedorov, Director, Neurologist, Center for Vision Restoration in Berlin Germany.
The cost (for 2) for flights to Berlin, the 12 day treatment by dr Fedorov, accomodation etc is a minimum of about 6000 Euros, or about $6800 (USD). In South African currency (Rands) that is about R102,000 – way out of my or her reach.

I have thus set a target of 8000 Euros (which equates to $9100 USD, or 6300 UK Pounds). The extra is to cover unexpected expenses.
Please help Bonita to possibly see one day.

Its not often you get given a chance to change the life of another so drastically. Here's wishing you take this opportunity to make a big difference to an amazing person.
