Help Basil in getting his parents and siblings out of Gaza

UPDATE:

As the campaign is not reaching its goal as fast as it needs to save all of my direct and extended family members and as the situation is only getting worse in Gaza day after day and minute after minute, I am updating the campaign to only include my parents and siblings. The arrangements after we reach the needed amount of donations will take few weeks, time that people in Gaza don't have as bombing and starvation are causing more and more casualties everyday.

I am truly thankful for all the help I got so far. No words can describe how grateful I am but I still need your help in sharing this campaign with everyone around you. Any amount, how small it is, will help my parents and siblings survive this war if we reach the needed amount before it is too late. Many thanks to all of you again.

I am Basil. I am Palestinian. My great grandparents were forcibly displaced to Gaza Strip from Haifa in 1948. I was born as a stateless refugee like hundreds of thousands of Palestinians all around the world. I was raised in Gaza Strip and I survived all the hardships that Gazans have been going through there since the eruption of the Second Intifada (uprising) in September 2000.

In 2014, I managed hardly to leave Gaza Strip for good. Growing up in such a difficult place is very hard and exhausting. Survival is the only thing that Gazans think a life is about after such long time. Everything changed on October 7th, 2023. The ongoing war made Gazans live under constant fear of dying in any minute. Gazans are now literally running for their lives everywhere in Gaza Strip. Nowhere is safe there and even if you don't die by bombing, the chances to die from malnutrition or infectious diseases are more and more everyday.

I was one of the lucky Gazans who managed to leave to a safer place but my family were not as lucky as me. My parents and my siblings lost everything they have since day one of the war. The war will enter its sixth month in few days and people have no income to buy anything that could help them survive the situation. Food and water became luxuries in daily life of Gazans.

I need to help my family to get out of Gaza Strip to a safer place. 7 members of my family are counting on your generosity to help them get out of these unbearable conditions before they lose their lives. Your donations will be mainly used to pay Egyptians who get paid to allow Palestinians to cross to the Egyptian side of the border crossing between Gaza Strip and Egypt. Egypt does not allow any Palestinian to leave Gaza Strip but the war is not ending and suffering and dying seem endless.

It costs 5000 USD to get an adult out of Gaza Strip to Egypt these days. If I manage to get everybody out and if there will be any excess amount from your donations left after this, it will be used for daily life expenses and medical care expenses my family members suffer on many levels and need both physical and mental rehabilitation. Your donations are much needed due to the fact that Gazans not only lost their homes, but they also lost their sources of income, their savings, and much more. Lots of Gazans do not even have anything to wear but the clothes they had on them before being displaced.
