Campaign Story
We are a disabled, autistic and transgender Plural System. We can't
share too much about our situation, not while we are still in it, but we
grew up and sadly still find ourselves in an abusive and dangerous
housing situation. We are constantly threatened with homelessness and
are faced with aggression, abuse, ableism and transphobia. The abuse has
become awful again, with our abusers controlling what, when and where
we eat, which is leading to weight loss and triggers our eating
disorder. We aren't allowed to have real privacy anymore, for example we
aren't allowed to lock our bedroom door. Although we recently acquired a
small job which allows us to buy food and water, which we have to hide
from them. We currently don't nearly
make enough money to save up and be able to get out.
We are in secret escaping an abusive situation, we aren't just moving.
We have a legit opportunity to escape early next month if we make the
fundraiser. It takes planning, coordination and money in order to
succeed, and we have no other means but to ask for help from our
community, to avoid becoming homeless again, and we need help to afford
the initial costs of travel, housing and basic living needs. We don't
owe much, and our travel doesn't allow us to bring much either. So we
are only able to take some of our clothes and personal items with us.
In order to escape we need funds for:
- Testosterone and necessary medication we depend on
- Travel cost to a different state
- Motel night(s) during travel
- Down payment on the available apartment
- Fridge
- Microwave
- Air mattress
- Blanket
Together we can finally put an end to the aggression and abuse we have
experienced for all these years. Hence, we created this fundraising
project, in order to allow the community to help us move to safety.
Thank you so very much to everyone who has donated already; it means so much to us. Each time a donation comes in, we feel a bit more relief, and we start to believe a little more that we can get out of this horrendous situation and that there are people out there who are willing and able to help us, even when our abusers keep repeating that no one will. Together we are proving them wrong, and we are forever grateful for all and any support, in all shapes, such as sharing and donating, that we possibly can get.

We believe in y'all. Escaping your abusers takes a lot of courage, and we're proud of you for making this scary but important step. Know that regardless of what some may say, there will always be people who care. Safe travels, friends.
