Fundraising for a friend who has fallen on hard times in this economy--in 2009 he was conned into buying properties in Alabama and over 100K was taken from him by a "friend"--the houses were never repaired as promised. Subsequently one renter burned a house to a ground (a ministry that claimed they had insured the house), and two of the other homes were vandalized/trashed by uncaring renters. Amidst this, the media lost the footage of the burned home that may have allowed him a claim.. Multiple attempts to find reliable honest contracters to repair the homes for sale have failed. The City has not helped at all, fining him for failed yardwork not done when he paid, and cutting electrical wired by sloppy maintenance workers and then charging him thousands of dollars , commanding the cut system was obsolete and needed to be upgraded.
Amidst this, this self employed person experienced a massive heart event that shoukd have ended his life. The fact he has survived is a miracle, but he owes tens of thousandds of dollars in medical bills and lost two years of work recovering physically and mentally. His home is in major disrepair, and he has not the time nor the strength to get on top of things. He works 90 hours a week and is not even coming close to breaking even. The stress causes more cardiac damage and he is warned that he may not live much longer if he does not cut down on the stress, but he feels no choice but to try to work on his debt, which is now over 500K.
This is an individula who ALWAYS put helping others first when he had the means in the past. He is a community pillar and founding member of a local children's charity. Now he needs the help of others with kind hearts to get back on his feet, so he can once again return the help in kind.
