Everyone has a passion. Mine is languages.
Hello all, my name is Lianna and I am a high school senior. For the past six years, I have been lucky enough to be able to study Russian, which I am now taking at the college level. Since the beginning of my studies, I have anxiously awaited the opportunity to travel to and study in one of Russia's most gorgeous and well-known cities: Saint Petersburg. Finally, in my junior year, I was allowed to apply to my school's foreign exchange program, and after countless essays, an interview, and weeks of waiting, I received a letter informing me that I had been accepted. I was ecstatic.
The only problem is the cost of the trip itself: a hefty $2,500, plus the added expense of obtaining a passport and visa. I come from a very low income, single parent home; my mother has been out of work for several years due to health issues, and is unable to help me with any costs. While I am currently juggling three jobs, I also wish to be the first in my family to attend college, so I am trying to save all extra money I earn for my schooling. As a result, I am unable to afford this trip without help.
To be able to go to Saint Petersburg, and immerse myself in a culture and language which I have been studying for so long, would truly be a dream come true, and I thank in advance anyone who is kind enough to donate. Even the smallest contribution would help immensely.
If you have any further questions, feel free to message me. Thank you again.
