Lorenz is a very hardworking and loving Son to his widowed Mother, who is suffering from Diabetes and Hypertension for years now. He always makes sure he can be there for his mother to take care of her and to ensure she’s always safe. He is also a good and loving Uncle to his nieces and nephews. However, on the sad day of 13th of August this year, he suddenly had seizure and loss of consciousness which prompted his friends to bring him to the nearest hospital. During the admission, it was discovered that he had a hemorrhagic stroke at the dangerous part of his brain, that left him in a vegetative state(coma). He was kept and managed at the Critical Care Unit of Corazon Locsin Hospital in Bacolod City for more than 3 weeks where he received intensive treatment with close monitoring and his breathing sustained through a continuous mechanical ventilator. Initially, the prognosis was poor and the family was told that he may not recover and will remain brain dead for the remainder of his life, if he survived. It may be a devastating news for them, but his family, relatives and friends all around the globe offered fervent prayer and petition for God to perform a miracle. To our amazement, he begun to show signs of recovery after nearly 3 weeks of staying in CCU. His Glasgow coma scale (a way of measuring a person’s level of consciousness) of 3 dramatically increased to 6 in a matter of 2 weeks and now it has remained at 10, which is a good indication of a probable recovery. With that, we are more than grateful to God for listening to our prayer and for the gleam of hope that He has dropped into our hearts. Indeed, with God all things are possible and nothing is too difficult for Him. And He is a Good Father who acts on behalf of those who trust in Him. Through it all, God is still Sovereign and is in control.
A month has passed, Lorenz has remarkably shown signs of progress. Overall, he is now free from danger and was transferred to a normal hospital room few days ago, but still breathing through tracheostomy. He is not able to move his extremities yet and is on ongoing physiotherapy, however he is able to open his eyes on verbal command. We are happy to see him slowly recovering and though it may still take some time ( according to God’s will), we will not lose hope and faith. We will do our best to be of help to him and his family in whatever means we could, because we know they are going through so much pain; anxiety and difficulty. And we will not give up praying for his complete healing, for strength and comfort for his family especially his Mother who is also not well and for God to provide for their financial burdens nowadays.
That’s why we are appealing to every kind and generous hearts out there, who knows exactly how it feels to be in great need, to extend your grace and mercies to our Friend and his family, who are constrained with the surmounting hospital and medical bills (in just less than a month it has already rose to 500K, excluding Doctor’s fees and future expenses once he’s discharged). Any amount will make a lot of difference in uplifting them up and in giving them reasons to continue fighting this battle no matter how difficult. Your kindness, prayer and generosity to a person in need is an incense to God, pleasing and acceptable to Him... as His word revealed “ A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed” Proverbs 11:25. Thank you friends...
In all these, we give the highest praise and glory to God for all He has done and all He is going to do.
God bless your hearts.
