Capital Area Therapeutic Riding Association 2013 Hay for the Horses Fundraiser!
I have had the opportunity to volunteer and support this organization a few times in the past. I have never seen such dedication and passion to help others. The heartbeat of CATRA lies within the volunteers and volunteens. If it were not for them and the many donations each year the farm could simply not exist. I have been wanting to do more and now is my chance. They have a hefty food bill every year and I want to provide some relief for them.
I will be giving my time now to CATRA on a regular basis but I ask your help to reach my goal of funding a full year of hay for the horses and other animals. I set the goal at $10,000 but there entire food costs run about $50,000 and that is JUST FOR HAY!!
Any amount will be GREATLY appreciated!
Here is a little bit about CATRA from there website:
Aside from the owners, Ben and Shirley Nolt, the program is run completely by volunteers, who do everything from assisting at lessons to cleaning stalls, mowing grass, and every sort of barn and office work. We have over 100 riders in lessons every week, each of whom requires from 1 to 4 volunteer assistants per lesson. Our volunteer needs are enormous! CATRA volunteers work hard, but we have a lot of fun, and we get the satisfaction of doing work that is worth while and fulfilling. CATRA is a very special place where everyone is accepted equally.
