Half marathon for Spradders

As most of you have seen from previous links that i've shared, one of my good friends, Matt Spradbury (Spradders) was diagnosed earlier this year with Motor Neuron Disease. This is obviously heartbreaking news for him and his family.However, Matt is facing it the way he has lived his whole life - with positivity, humour, a smile on his face, and his thoughts focussed on those closest to him.

Matt has always supported charity events by cycling and running miles,and has always been one of the fittest guys i know. I've had the pleasure of completing some of them with him. He has not only managed to push me out of my comfort zone, but always supported and encouraged me, not only in sporting activities but also in my life. (He is forgiven for calling Bev and I's wedding a fancy dress office BBQ!!)

There have already been a number of terrific fundraising events, that will help Matt and his family make the changes needed to make his life more liveable and comfortable.

Now its my turn to do my bit. I have the honour of running the Leicester half-marathon on the 25th October to raise money for Matt, and am proud to do so alongside his son Josh and daughter Charlotte.(well slightly behind them as they are significantly younger than i am).

Because of the previous charity events i have set my expectations at £300,as i'm aware that many of you have already donated. For those who haven't had opportunity to donate, or for those who want to show their continued support, i ask you to donate whatever you can, however small. Any money will be gratefully received by me, on behalf of Matt and his family.
