Trichologists on a Mission are a collaborative team of licensed trichologists who are committed to studying and treating all types of hair loss, with an emphasis on holistic treatment protocols.

Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia (CCCA) is a form of scarring alopecia that results in hair loss on the scalp and is most commonly seen in African American women. TOAM & Hair Again is partnering with Save Our Scalps TM to assist in the identification of what causes CCCA, understanding how to prevent it, and the development of more effective treatments.

About 80 million men and women in the United States have hair loss. It’s estimated that 40 percent of women over the age of 40 suffers with CCCA. CCCA is rarely seen in men or among persons of other ethnicities; and unfortunately, this condition is often excluded from research. Yet its prevalence suggests there is a critical need for research. Early diagnosis of CCCA can prevent further progression that often results in extensive, permanent hair loss. Early treatment can enhance regrowth potential of unscarred areas and prevent progression of disease. More research studies are needed to further the understanding of this disorder.

Trichologists on a Mission is conducting a crowdfunding campaign to raise $118,800 to pay for costs associated with research for our 66 client participants.
