Hi there! Thanks for visiting my gogetfunding page!
On June 10th, some of my friends and I are walking the West Highland Way to raise money for various charities. In case you haven't heard of the Way, it's a 96 mile long trek beginning in Milgnavie, Glasgow, and finishing up in Fort William, where (weather permitting) we will end our walk by climbing Ben Nevis.
The charity I'm raising money for is the Gunjur Project, an organisation in the Gambia, West Africa, which aims to provide a nursery, primary and secondary education for the children in Gunjur. Despite education being free, most families cannot afford to send their children to school due to the uniforms, schools books, etc. and there is no education provided before the age of 7.
I'm going over to the Gunjur Project in July to volunteer and take any money I've raised with me (I've already got £100 from bakesales at my school!) It would be suuuuuuper great if you donated even a little bit to help the Gunjur Project out, and I'll be posting photos on facebook so you can see exactly what your money is being used for! (If you don't have facebook I can email you if you like!)
I should add, the Gunjur Project has other branches which help in the village health clinic, agriculture, etc, but I'm focusing on the teaching aspect. If you want to know more check out: http://www.thegunjurprojectgambia.net/information-2/making-a-difference.html
So, to prove my dedication to my trip, I'm walking the West Highland Way in hopes of getting some sponsorship! As I'm not exactly the hiking type it will certainly be interesting... and again, photos will follow.
Thank you very much for any donations you can give! (If you'd like to share this page with anyone who might be interested in donating, please feel free to!)
