Graduate studies dream!!

This fundraiser is for me, a brazilian student willing to do a Master in Canada!!

Follow a research in Cancer biology has been my treasured dream for a long time, but I used to think that my dreams were too big for me. I never thought I was capable of achieving them.

To be honest, I never thought one day I would be studying in one of the best Brazilian universities. When I got there I realized that I have potential and decided that I should pursue my dreams. My first accomplishment is an undergrad exchange program at University of Toronto, which I am currently doing, financed by a Brazil’s government grant. This experience make me sure that I want to follow a graduate degree program in a renowned university and then come back to Brazil to help raise and improve the research field there. However, to do a graduate course abroad is difficult for me for several reasons.

First of all, I am the first generation of undergraduate students in my Mom's family. They try to encourage me to persist on my ambitions, but it is harsh for them to advise and support me on a matter they do not have experience. Thus, it is not from our culture to have a fund for studies, so my parents did not do it. Although they urge to help me accomplish this challenging goal, our income is not enough to pay for neither my living expenses abroad nor the tuitions fees. That is why I am asking for help on this website.

At least, dreaming I for free!
