Government Shutdown/Lesbians/Army/Homeless/Proposal

Asking for personal donations in not something I ever thought I would do but my desire to marry my girlfriend over powers my pride, but I want to get her the ring she will love!

I need help.

About me:

My name is Tina G. I am a 23 year old female born and raised in Texas, currently residing in Austin. I am an enlisted soldier for the Texas Army National guard currently working as a budget analyst for the head quarters at Camp Mabry. I have my bachelors in Social work from Abilene Christian University and I work at the Homeless Shelter down town on the weekends. I am dating an amazing women and I want so badly to make her my wife but the two times I have started saving money for the ring and my proposal idea an issue arises and I use the money I saved for bills.

About Us:

Last December I asked Ashley to be my girlfriend on December 12th 2012 (12/12/12) and on December 13th I started saving for a ring. I knew from the day I met her that she was an amazing women and as our friendship developed into a relationship it was only a matter of time till I popped the question. We love helping others, charity runs, being outdoors, traveling, music, art, tattoos, and spending time with out AMAZING family and friends. Her sisters are coming down from Portland and Organ this Christmas and I would LOVE to ask her while they are here.

Why I need help:

I am a planner. I planned this very post in a word document and I planned how much money I would need to do a cool proposal back in December after I asked Ashley to be my girlfriend. I planned to save $3000.00 by July and I was on the right track when Ashley was let go at her job. She had NEVER lost a job before in her life so this completely took us by surprise and I had no other choice but to use what I saved to put into bills. End of July Ashley got a new job, not as high paying but it was a good opportunity and we were excited to get back on our feet. We steadily putting money in savings and in September we even had spending cash left over (I used my half on workout tanks for Cross fit). As I saw things were getting better I put a plan into action to save $3,000.00 by March, called it Operation Get Betrothed (OGB) , picked up extra shifts at the Homeless shelter and I was optimistic to reach my goal…THEN THE GOVERNMENT SHUT DOWN and I lost my job.

Proposal Idea:

I had already started putting a portion of my “spending money” from September into Operation Get Betrothed but because I lost my job due to the government shut down that money will have to go to bills to cover the days I missed at work. I have this great proposal idea that involves a professional graffiti artist, a graffiti wall, a beautiful song on guitar (that I am learning to play for this occasion) and family and friends waiting for us celebrate with us after but with this set back it won’t happen, again. I am just so ready to make her my wife; I am willing to try anything to give her special day she will always remember.

Budget plan:

It seems almost impossible. $3000.00 by December 16th. That would mean I would need to have about $43.00 a day which would be about $989.00 in October, $1290.00 in November, and $688.00 in December. I would need to have an idea if I was going to make the goal around the end of November so I could start getting things into place, and would have to rush on buying the ring.

I’m so tired of letting unfortunate financial issues that are out of both of our control effect our future, and at am pulling out all the stops to make this happen now.
