Glew the Cat & the Sticky Situation

Our cat, Glew, is five years old. She and her brother, Payste, were adopted as kittens and have been together with my husband and I for that entire time.

A year and a half ago, Glew started to get sick.

We learned after a trip to the vet that she had contracted stomatitis, so we began giving her antibiotics and an altered diet to help ease her pain and fight the disease.

Unfortunately, in the last six months, the antibiotics have stopped helping and her condition has worsened. It has worsened to the point where either she must have all of her teeth extracted as a last resort to combat the infection, or we will need to consider putting her to sleep. It would be inhumane to allow her to continue down the path she is on.

It seems an awful thing to have to put a cat to sleep because her mouth is too painful to eat well, groom well or even meow normally, but the surgery to remove all of her teeth and the medication needed to heal is beyond what we can reasonably afford.

That is why we are asking you to please consider donating even a small amount to help us afford this surgery for Glew. Any amount will help, and even if we are unable to meet the amount needed for the surgery, we will be able to clean her up and give her a few good weeks of life before we must have the procedure to put her to sleep.
