Campaign Story
Developement of the fundraiser:
As a teenager, I fell in love with the art of pottery. I used this outlet in high school to realize how valuable I am. If I did not have pottery in high school I might not have developed into the productive, good natured person I am today.
Why donate?
High schools in Portland, and other cities are cutting funding to different arts. The lack of outlets for kids in high schools deny them a positive outlet as they grow into productive citizens in society. If they don't have good things to spend their time doing then they will have a higher likelihood of doing drugs.
Results of donation:
By developing a company centered around the purpose of creating ceramic glazes I hope to donate 10% of products, and/or revenue to the advancement of pottery in high schools. I intend to ease some of the financial burden placed on the ceramic departments in Portland public high schools (hopefully other cities as my company grows). I hope to show kids in high schools today that they are also valuable.
Thank you for taking a moment to consider this opportunity. Please help me as I show kids how important they are. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Michael Wagner
