Give to the Max for International Institute of Minnesot

The International Institute of Minnesota welcomes New Americans to the Twins Cities and offers them a continuum of services to promote their full integration into our community. For nearly 100 years, the Institute has helped immigrants and refugees resettle in their new community. The Institute’s programing includes job training and language classes as well as refugee resettlement, immigration, citizenship, and anti-human trafficking services. 

The Institute is recognized for  excellent accountability and high standards having met all accountability standards of the Charities Review Council. They provide services, training and classes to all new refugees and help them get a strong start to a new life.

I have a strong passion for this non-profit organization as my family and I were refugees from Vietnam. With the help of The International Institute of Minnesota, we were able to start a new life in Minnesota. The Institute helped us to find a new apartment and even furnished it! They helped my parents enroll us in school, connected us to health and social services, taught my parents how to use the bus system and even how to brush their teeth properly. I am proud of their efforts because refugees cannot go home and a strong start to a new life enhances the ability of New Americans and their children to contribute fully as members of our community.

I  am now in a unique position whereby I have recently been offered a position on the Board of Directors. I have contributed $1000, but I would like to raise more. The money will go to good use at the Institute. Here is a link to their website if you would like to learn more: http://www.iimn.org/.
