Help us make the voices from the homeless people of Rio de Janeiro heard. They are often victims of police abuses that we want to document through their recorded witness accounts. On a daily basis, homeless people of Rio have to face beatings and torture if they don't pay up bribes to certain policemen to be "allowed" to sleep in the streets. We are buying Go Pro cameras, which can record for hours, to be hidden in homeless areas, to capture such abuses, and we are also using our smartphones to catch on camera their personal stories and cover their daily lives' struggles, to be compiled for a YouTube documentary later this year. WE NEED YOUR HELP. The whole project costs only 500 dollars, to fund the technology, transportation & editing expenses. I have a long history helping to better the lives of those living in the streets. I was the Chief of a magazine (Nový Prostor), in the Czech Republic, that was sold by the homeless, accompanied by a reintegration program; I launched a series of projects that helped those in dire financial situations find alternative solutions to everyday problems. My credentials as a journalist and cultural anthropologist are enriched by the large and deep experience with programs to alleviate the lives of those without a shelter.
