Campaign Story
Kenja is an affectionate and playful puppy with an exceptional personality that anyone would want in a dog. She's remarkably intelligent, eager to learn, and thrives on human attention. However, Kenja's story is far from a happy one.
Her tale begins with her father, Shoku, a beautiful stray golden retriever destined for rescue and a foster home in the United States. Tragically, just one month before his rescue, Shoku was fatally struck by a car. A few weeks later, we learned that he had mated with a lovely white stray dog who had a broken leg. She gave birth in the mountains to ensure her puppies' safety from the dangers of humans, cars, and other dogs. Every day, despite her broken leg, she made the arduous journey up the mountain to feed her puppies, and then back down to the city to scavenge for food. Her determination and sacrifice was remarkable.
After Shoku's unfortunate accident and the severe injury of Kenja's mother, my determination grew to ensure that these puppies wouldn't meet the same fate. Finding loving homes for each puppy became my top priority. One by one, they found homes, except for little Kenja. Unlike her siblings, Kenja didn't resemble her father Shoku, who had a golden retriever's fluffy hair and big, floppy ears. Kenja's fur was short, she didn't share her father's physical traits at all. Some even went so far as to call her ugly. No one wanted her. Due to this, Kenja was left on the streets to fend for herself. Sadly, it didn't take long for her to face the same fate as her parents.
Just three days ago, Kenja was struck by a car in the middle of the night. Upon receiving the news, I immediately arranged for a volunteer to put her in a taxi and send her to our vet in Greece. Just by looking at her deformed body we knew it was going to be a challenging road to recovery.
Kenja's injuries are extensive, including a 2 broken ribs, broken pelvis, dislocated leg, broken femur, a break at the knee joint, and a broken ankle. She's still very young and certainly didn't deserve such suffering.
Our vet in Greece is truly exceptional, specializing in orthopedic surgeries, especially for hips. We've had success with his expertise in the past. He believes that, despite the complexity of her surgery, with some healing time and therapy, Kenja will regain her ability to walk. The total cost for her surgery/treatment package 1600 euros. This will also include a spay while she’s under anesthesia during her last surgery. Can we all come together to change this puppy's fate? Your contributions could make a world of difference for Kenja. We are loaded with cases and in debt with vet bills. But how can we say no to her again. Just Like her siblings she deserves a happily ever after.

Kenya first surgery
Update posted by Mija Pasha at 10:24 pmKenya underwent her initial surgery to mend her broken femur and ankle. Her ribs and pelvis will heal naturally, but she must remain in a clinical cage to prevent any excessive movement or jumping. After her pelvis has fully healed, she'll require another surgery to address the dislocated leg. Until
