Hey there. My name is Sarah, and I really like potatoes and Pokemon and just about anything animated. I also have a long list of medical issues (severe allergies, asthma, Chiari-malformation, a GI-motility disorder called rumination, full-body eczema, and even garden-variety anxiety/depression that's being treated) that have caused a significant amount of damage in my ability to stay financially stable in the past two years.
2012 was hell. I had a dying girlfriend that I was constantly in the hospital with, my ex-roommate tried to kill herself and me, I got illegally fired from my job, and I spent every day vomiting for no known reason (until I was diagnosed with the rumination/anxiety).
Needless to say, I ended up racking up an amount of debt that--while it might pale in comparison to other debts--has caused many sleepless nights. I'm in that paycheck-to-paycheck world right now and can barely care for myself. For reasons I'd rather not get into, I'm not able/comfortable going to family for help of this sort.
So, here's my goal. $3000 would pay off the credit debt that I have. That's my primary goal, while I'm also still just trying to be able get by. I'm leaving the "end date" open, because honestly...my month to month has been a blurry mess of stress and barely scraping by.
ON THE PLUS SIDE. I just got hired for a job that pays a few dollars/hour better than minimum wage, and I'm praying that my medical issues don't screw that up for me. If I'm able to just get a little bit of start-off help (Even if not the $3000, because I know that's asking a hell of a lot), it would make life so much easier for me. And I'd have a chance of sleeping my 8 hours instead of being awake until 4am just laying in bed fretting.
Peace of mind is priceless. I'll certainly never take it for granted after this.
So, here it is. Even $5 helps. Anything does. And for anyone who DOES help, if they ever want me to do a portrait for them in exchange, I am beyond happy to. (You can see my portrait samples at quietlysleeping.deviantart.com. I'm best at realism, but I'm happy to give cartooning a go.)
