Campaign Story
Get Farrah to the Czech Republic
Farrah Brett is a 14 year old high performance Gymnast. In 2022, she launched her international career as the youngest team member on the junior South African Team to compete at African Champs. The team came 2nd overall in the team competition and Farrah came 2nd overall in the vault final.
She is in Grade 8 at Parktown Girls high school and whilst training 24hrs a week, is maintaining an over 80% overall average at school.
Her commitment and perseverance is astounding and this young lady is going places, but she needs your help. She is hoping to compete in the Olympic hopes competition in the Czech Republic in November 2022. This competition will be a preparation for the trials for Junior World Championships taking place in March 2023. These international competitions will put her in an excellent position to gain the experience she needs to hopefully be selected for the South African Junior World Championships Team and the Junior Commonwealth Games team, competing in March and July 2023. 2023 will be her last year as a Junior.
Like any competitive sport, gymnastics is unbelievably expensive and traveling to compete internationally even more so. Her training and Sports Medical costs are completely sponsored by Northstars Gymnastics club and together Central Gauteng and Gauteng Gymnastics Association has generously donated R6000 for the competition in the Czech Republic.
There is however a shortfall of R25000 for the competition in Czech republic and we would also like to start raising funds for World Championships too, should she get the chance to go. This amount is currently out of reach for her.
If 80 people, each donated R300, she could get to Czech Republic, so no amount is too small.
Together we can help a spectacular young lady reach her dreams and have another South African Sports woman we can all be proud of.

Nov 01, 2022 at 08:38 am Farrah has withdrawn from Olympic Hopes 2022 Update posted by Lee Peckover To all the wonderful people who helped us get this initiative off the ground. unfortunately Farrah has had to withdraw from the Olympic hopes competition as she has sustained a bone bruising knee injury. Farrah will be back in action in a few weeks and will focus her time on preparing for the 2023 competition season. Farrah is still eligible to do the Olympic Hopes competition in 2023 and all fund raised will be put into the Northstars Fundraising account and kept aside for the international events she will attend in 2023. should any of the Donors want a refund please do let us know and we will happily action it. This has been devastating for Farrah and the Northstars team but we are focusing on her recovery and we can’t wait for the 2023 international competition season. thank you once again to all the amazing people who have contributed to Farrah’s campaign. It is heart warming to see how much support she has.
