GB U18’s Dragon Boat Squad – Canada 2015

It is our aim to send a twenty eight (28) strong squad to represent Great Britain at the World Dragonboat Racing Championships which are being held in Canada between the 18th to the 23rd August 2015. The GB Under 18’s  Dragonboat Team is however, completely unsubsidised and relies heavily on the ability of our team members to self-fund their training, travel and participation in both national and international events.  As we are not an Olympic sport we cannot access funding from the lottery or Sport England. With each training session costing £20.00 per paddler (exc. travel to and from the training venues) and the cost of partaking in the World Dragonboat Racing Championships currently estimated at approx. £2,000.00 per person, funding can often be a disabling obstacle in ensuring that Great Britain can field its most competitive crew. We are aiming to raise at least £56,000.00 to support the team in our mission to bring home medal success from the World Dragonboat Racing Championships and we kindly ask that you consider supporting us this year. All donations will help and will ensure we can take our best and strongest paddlers to compete and represent Great Britain.
