Gastric Bypass

would be happy if you could assist in helping me to fund my Gastric Bypass Surgery.

I went for a colonoscopy and a gastroscopy today (4 Sept) and was informed that I have a Hiatal Hernia with a severe stomach infection.

Due to the fact that I am overweight (no it is not by choice a lot of medical reasons that is contributing to this) the doctor informed me that if he repairs the hernia the chances of it returning is 90%. He then suggested I do a Roux-en-Y bypass. Unfortunately the costs involved are astronomical and is not covered by my medical aid (medical insurance) as I am the lowest option as I am currently unemployed and only receiving a grant from government that pays about $107 (R1790.00) a month and that covers my medical aid and chronic medication and nothing else. The total cost for bypass surgery is approximately $7830.00 (R130 000.00). The hernia is life threatening as the danger is that the blood supply to stomach can become strangled or cut off. I already suffer from heartburn or gastroesophageal reflux. It is difficult to ask for help but I have no choice.
