Gap Medics Placement

I'm planning to go to Tanzania  later this year  as part of a pre-midwifery placement. Whilst on this placement I will be given the most satisfying opportunity of helping women in this unfortunate and under developed country through one of the most amazing but terrifying experiences of their lives. Tanzania has a lack of medical knowledge and understanding and sadly, scarce access to medical assistance. So as part of my placement, I will work with other future health professionals and already qualified professionals in assisting women who may have found it difficult to receive medical care, in the birth of their child. Also, in my free time  I will have the opportunity of visiting the local orphanage who greatly appreciate donations and shopping sprees from the local supermarkets for basic supplies such as food, clean water  and hygiene products.  Obviously this will require quite a substansial amount of funding, in terms of travel, accommodation and money which I will bring to support the orphanage, so it would be a MASSIVE help if everyone could donate even a little something to help me along.
