FUNDRAISING FOR PERFORMING ARTS

“Hey everyone, my name is Taylor.

I am 16 years old and was an elite gymnast from the age of 5 and at 13 I started training as a dancer. I started Gymnastics at South Essex Gymnastics Club where I represented my Club at Regional Level. As a dancer I trained in Royston at Stageright School of Performing Arts.

Last year I auditioned for a number of Performing Arts Schools after my school encouraged me to do so . I was offered places at all 7 schools together with scholarships to cover my fees and equipment. I chose to attend the prestigious Wilkes Academy of Performing Arts in Swindon.

I am looking for help with my rent as my mum has been at home looking after my brother after he was hit by a motorcycle last summer and due to Co-Vid my mum has having a problem finding work now my brother is back in school.

After christmas I will not have the money for my rent. My rent covers everything but my food, which my dad is paying for (my parents are seperated), but its the rent I will struggle with. I do have a job as a waitress but currently the restaurant is closed and with my long hours at the Academy I am unable to work the hours needed to cover all my rent.

DREAMS AND ASPIRATIONS

I have always dreamed of being a Choreographer from a young age and although it was never planned I was told if I wanted to be a Choreographer I would need to be dancing by the time I was 13. At 13 I found a love for dance and the performing arts thanks to my school. I also never dreamed of being offered places the top Performing Arts School in the UK.

When I finish my studies at Wilkes Academy I intend on going to the US to study my degree in Performing Arts and would like to study at USC/UCLA or Juilliard.

I have widened my interest in the Performing Arts and would like work in the Theatre or on Cruise Ships as a performer and I haven't ruled out the TV etc either.

I am a very hard working individual and enjoy the challenge which comes with industry and I am determined to find a way to pay my rent to continue my studies.
