Fundraiser for our mom Selina Banu

Hi Friends,

Our mom, Selina Banu, has been battling aggressive blood cancer (Diffuse Large B cell Lymphoma) since November 2017. Her only symptoms before her diagnosis were body itch and rash, and what we thought to be simple allergies somehow turned out to be cancer! Our mom is a Professor at the Institute of Education and Research, Dhaka University, Bangladesh and the diagnosis has brought her whole life to a halt. She has been through 6 rounds of chemotherapy and her mid treatment scan showed she was in remission. We were all very excited, only to find out last month that her cancer has spread to the bones in her spine. The news shattered our family. Currently our mom is going through even more intense chemotherapy in Singapore. The good news is that her cancer is responding to the chemotherapy and the next step is a stem cell transplant.

We are asking for your help with medical payments during this difficult time . Our father has been handling all the medical bills so far and have already spent around $150K, but right now we are stretched too thin financially and finding it very difficult to meet the expenses. I am not one to ask for help, especially financial, but the financial burden of these treatments with the impending cost of stem cell transplant being approx 150K is a lot to undertake for my family. As international patients we also do not have health insurance in Singapore which is making it even harder. Anything you can offer would be more appreciated than you can imagine.
