Hi guys,

Not sure if you've heard of Cindy's story. She was unfortunately diagnosed with luminal B in mid-term breast cancer in January 2021. In the following half a year, it became a long road of chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation. She suffered a lot, both physically and psychologically.

What has made matters worst, she has had to pay part of the medical treatment out of her pocket. As far as we know, Cindy has already spent £13k... and there is still a lot of money to be spent in the future. In China, even though we have medical insurance, many of the drugs used to treat cancer need to be imported from abroad and insurance will not reimburse this part.

Therefore, we hope to raise funds for Cindy, helping her through such a difficult time.

Thanks,

Iris

This fundraiser is in aid of Cindy's fight against breast cancer. Cancer takes both physical and emotional tolls on the individual and their families, and treatment brings financial strains in countries with less public funding to healthcare. If you would like to show your support, all funds raised will be provided to Cindy directly.

Cindy's Story

Without a doubt the past half year has become one of the most unforgettable periods in my life. One evening in late 2020, I felt a lump in my breast while in the shower. Disregarding it at the time, I thought was just a common breast hyperplasia that would disappear by itself. However, after a month the lump became bigger, but I still didn’t think anything of it. I thought it was something that would disappear with medication. When I went to the hospital for a health check on January 8, 2021, the doctor said my condition was very serious, with a strong possibility of breast cancer. In that moment, I could feel nothing. I couldn't believe I would get cancer, given how young I am. So I went to another hospital for a second check, but the result was the same. The doctor urged me to be hospitalized immediately, explaining that the tumour was quite big and growing rapidly, and gave my diagnosis as luminal B in mid-term breast cancer. In the following half a year, it became a long road of chemotherapy, surgery and radiation. The process of chemotherapy is very painful, both physically and psychologically. Thanks to the encouragement and support of my family and friends as well as the IG family, I have withstood the process of chemotherapy and surgery, and am now undertaking further radiotherapy with an optimistic outlook.

I hope everyone who are reading this can stay away from cancer forever. If you do feel anything wrong with your body, please don’t wait, please do get health-checked.
