My name is Arthur "Bruce" Taylor and I am here trying to raise funds for my legacy. I thought long and hard and prayed even harder as to what, as a father, I could leave my children once I am gone. I thought about leaving them each a million $$, as that is easy now a days with insurance. But once it is gone, it is gone...I have instilled my morals, ethics, values and a belief in God in them, but what else could I do? Then the old adage "Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, or teach him to fish, and feed him for a lifetime." popped in my head. So I want to teach my children how to "fish"...
I love to cook and for years have made my own seasonings for family gatherings and the such. Many have told me that I need to bottle them and get them on the market. I never put much stock in the idea and always just grinned and agreed out of politeness. I am a personal trainer by trade and always have wanted to own my own gym, so why would I want to try that was my thought... But one day my wife told me that I truly have no reason not to do it, as all the seasoning companies that are on the market today started off the same way, in a kitchen cooking for loved ones.
So I did a bunch of research on how to begin a seasoning company and had my brand developed. I formed a LLC and formulated 6 different seasonings.... Brown Sugar Hickory, Chicago, Memphis, Chipotle, Adobo and Seafood seasoning. All of my seasonings are sodium free, MSG free, Glutton free as well as no added fillers, dyes or artificial flavorings. I have had them all sent to Clemson University, as required by SCUSDA law, for PH, Allergen and Shelf Sustainability testing. All passed and were approved with flying colors!!! The drawback was that because my kitchen is not a USDA approved stainless steel kitchen, I can no longer make them myself. I now have to use a Co-Packer that can make them in bulk, bottle, label and box them for me in order for me to get to the next step. Which is to have them made in bulk, create sales and ultimately have them on store shelves worldwide...!!
I have personally created and given away/sold over 3,000 bottles myself, before I found out I could no longer create them in my kitchen, and to those that read this and know me they are a huge hit!!!! Sodium free rub...nothing on the market like it yet. All the rubs on the shelf today are over half sodium! So, the legacy I want to leave my children is a company that is Brand recognized and self-sustainable. One that is going to grow over time, and with the culinary trends. A company that will prosper in the market, create jobs for the community (for I don't wish to use a co-packer forever...one day I plan on opening my own packaging facility that will employ 150-200 or more people, feeding their families as well as mine) and enable it to be a blessing to others by supporting and donating to other area organizations that are deserving.
There are many things I want this company to be, and I know in my heart and see in my faith that it will become all I believe it will be and more. But in order to make this happen I need help...I need to raise at least $25 grand in order to cover the cost of production, bottling, freight and marketing. I have already invested over $15,000 out of pocket over the last 3 years trying to get this off the ground. Now is the part that requires more than I have. With the funds donated, I will be able to continue on the path of leaving a legacy for my children. By folding the profits back into the company and growing it more and more as it progresses.
