Hi, I’m Lorenzo Ervin. I need urgent medical care, more specifically, chiropractic care to treat my sciatica and extreme neck pain. But the Veterans Administration is dragging its heels on giving me medical care within its system, or sending me out to a private chiropractor through their program. My wife JoNina and I cannot afford the $150 to $200 it costs per visit for a local chiropractor. So, i am just sitting at home in pain and suffering. I can barely sleep some nights or even turn my head some days. This painful pinched nerve and sciatica goes all the way down to my back and hips. I'm 72 years old and getting worse each day. I will not get better without medical care.
My wife and I are a senior household with low, fixed income. We cannot afford to pay my monthly premium for Medicare Part B. The V.A. has not really been responsive. I have to take pain pills instead of getting chiropractic physical therapy. So, I have to turn to you to help me raise the money for my medical care so I won't become another victim of the broken medical system in the U.S. I will use whatever funds I raise not just for chiropractic care, but also for a medical treatment chair, which can help me at home, and later send me to a Wellness Center for Natural Medicine, in hopes unconventional medicine can help where traditional medicine fails.
I have been a friend and fellow activist to many of you all over the world. I was in the civil rights movement in the 1960’s and in the prison movement, anarchist and socialist groups during the 1970’s and beyond, as well as black radical and anti-racist movements of the 1960’s through the 2000’s. In 1987, when I was president of the Concerned Citizens for Justice in my hometown, Chattanooga,Tenn., I put together a voting rights lawsuit with the Southern Regional ACLU Voting Rights Project, which won new democratic rights for the entire black community in Chattanooga. I have fought against police brutality and murder for the last 40 plus years in Chattanooga and a number of other cities where I have lived. Now, I have become sick in my old age, and I need your support. Please donate to my medical care fund so I can live with dignity in my senior years. Any size donation can help us. Thank you.
