You know, it’s a funny thing growing up. It’s awful and wonderful all at once. I remember facing the challenges and joys of High School, moving out, the Job Hunt, pleasing your employer, buying your first car, your first accident, all of it. I even remember, almost like it was yesterday, completing my mission papers to go serve a 2-year, full-time mission. At possibly the most selfish stage of one’s life, I was going to go think of others for two years. But then disaster struck. In a work accident, I received chemical burns from a petrol fire on my face and arms. After a month in ICU, over R 250,000 in Hospital fees, I walked out. But not after my fair share of miracles, because just a few months later I left and served a successful 2-year mission. And came back more than changed. I came back determined to make a difference. In the lives of those around me as well as my own.
So here we are. I’m working, studying and now considering a second job. All for what? To achieve a dream. To go study and work in the USA. To gain an education. To make a difference once more, this time in my life, to affect the lives of South Africans and Americans alike. Forever.
Here’s where you come in. Despite my two jobs and help from a loving, but not financially abundant family, I still won’t have the Capital required to make it to and in the USA. So, if you’re interested in making a difference, making a change, start here. Right now, though your contribution may be small or large, it will change everything. Not just for me either.
So here goes! To Flight! To changing lives!
