Hello.

My name is Bridget.

I am a grandmother of 10 adorable grandchildren and that is where this chapter in my story really begins.

You see, I have been a writer since as far back as i can remember but I have never tried to publish anything. One evening, a few years ago, one of my grandsons was sitting on my lap and asked, "Grandma, what if turtles wore tennis shoes?" As I began to tell him all the things I thought might be possible for that little turtle, he beamed and giggled as the rhymes kept coming and the fun scenes continued to unfold so I asked him, "Would you like grandma to write you a story about turtles and tennis shoes?" He did. And I didn't... For a while. Until I broke my foot and was laid up for a while. It was then written with the focus on the letter "T" and quickly became a favorite among those that read it and prodded me to get it published, along with the other stories that are following. As I was writing the turtle story, others were born and now there is a whole series in progress, with 3 completed.

Sadly, I am not an illustrator so the long, arduous search for an illustrator began and kept getting re-routed. Then I broke my ankle and was laid up again. The search continued while these cute little stories have lain in wait, growing cobwebs in a digital file in the computer and in the lines of countless notebooks. Until now!...

It was very important to me that I be able to personally connect with a budding artist. Someone who did not have a name yet but had the confidence, competence, and desire to grow and achieve a name and I finally found her! She is a young artist exploring her talents in illustration and I am very happy to have found her. She is excited to take this project and see it through and is ready to take on the rest as we proceed forward!

She is keeping her fees within reason but she does need to get paid for her time and talents as well as the rest of the fees that will come with publishing this little gem...

And now, we come to the reason for this fundraising request. The fees are not unreasonable but due to health restrictions I am partially disabled and unable to work so I do not have the funds to see this dream come true.

I would greatly appreciate the help to see this goal happen. These books are fun, rhyming, stories that teach children letters and words in a fun way so they don't even realize they are learning. They have little life lessons embedded in them as the pages contain alliteration, repetition, and rhyming in the fun little scenarios!

A monetary donation in any amount will be greatly appreciated and gladly accepted but I am prepared to offer additional incentives to try to surpass my goal amount for my first book because anything above my goal goes toward the next books in the series...

If you can donate $20 to my goal, you will receive an honorable mention in the book by name. If you can donate $30 to my goal, you will receive a copy of the book once it becomes available to me.
