Fuel, Maintenance and Funding for Missions

We are a missionary family that do a lot of mission work in the Transkei. We are part of a ministry organisation that consists of two families. All of us are responsible for raising our own funding, that's why we decided to turn to GoGetFunding. Travelling and driving between villages form a big part of what we do and how we reach people. Fuel and vehicle maintenance are our biggest expenses and our vehicle takes quite a beating on the roads we drive so it needs some expert attention from time to time. A large portion of the funds we receive is allocated to this expense and helps to keep us going.

Another area that we are focusing more on this year is youth development, we have a lot of youth that come to the mission base during the week and over the weekend. As most of these areas are underdeveloped, sport, education and music are sometimes not at a level that you’ll find in the cities. Through funding, we want to establish sports programmes like cricket, rugby and soccer. Music programmes, whereby children are taught about various instruments and giving them exposure to instruments like guitar, piano, violin and so much more. Setting up an education area within our church/community centre, where they can learn through play and be assisted with homework.

Our monthly fuel and maintenance budget is in the vicinity of R6 000 p/m and the balance of funds will be used towards our development programmes. Buying music instruments, educational material and sporting equipment.
