We all have hopes and dreams for our youth. Their as-yet untapped potential and fun-loving spirits are priceless. We want them to lead extraordinary lives with the amazing brains that tey have been given. On October 25, 2014, Longview World of Wonders will bring Frontiers of the Brain to Longview, TX. The themes of the program will be just like the brain itself: limitless.
The center of our event is the walk-through inflatable MEGA Brain by Medical Inflatables. This 1814X12 foot exhibit teaches about how the brain function and how it is affected by trauma and disease.
Another major theme for this event is how to keep our brain safe. Demonstrations on how to protect the brain will be provided including how to properly fit a helmet and bicycle, motorcycle and four-wheeler safety. Puzzles and Posters Mind bender puzzles and 3D stereogram posters will be available for hands-on activities. To provide these items and allow them to be incorporated into the rotating attractions once Longview World of Wonders, a hand-on children's discovery center, opens, your donation is needed.
We have multiple organizations participating to offer demonstrations, hands-on activities and information on topics such as how drugs and alcohol affect brain function, stroke awareness and more.
Over 10 local schools and colleges are scheduled to participate in our "Knowledge Fair." They will develop projects centered around what the brain can do, with the theme "We go as far as we dream."
This hands-on event is a wonderful opportunity to bring valuable information to the youth and their parents in our area. Your donation will allow us to put the finishing touches on this event such as purchasing the puzzles and posters mentioned above and rent tables and chairs for the vendors. It also allows us to keep the admission price to a nominal fee.
Longview World of Wonders
Longview World of Wonders is a non-profit organization seeking to inspire a life-long love of learning by giving children the opportunity to imagine, create and explore in a hands-on educational environment. As a volunteer organization that started without a brick and mortar building, we have operated as a "museum without walls" since 2009 providing fun and educational programs at various locations. As we work to create a state-of-the-art children's museum, we continue to offer exciting programs for our community which includes our next big event, Frontiers of the Brain.
