From One Paycheck to the Worst of Times

Hello Friends:

I find myself, like many others, in the unfortunate circumstance of relying on a paycheck from one to the next. And, being in that circumstance, it has finally caught up to me. I was already a month and a half behind my car note and car insurance that ballooned because the great state of Florida imposed higher insurance coverage for ride-share drivers.

Now, I find myself between a rock and a hard place. After suffering a staph infection, the prescriptions- much needed antibiotics- were costly. Problem solved, but, that presented yet another financial setback. Those costs pushed back the time I normally would pack an already late car note. And, just when I was a day or two away from making my car payment, it was repossessed on my birthday.

And, with only $10.00 to my name, at this writing, I need to get to job interviews after I apply online and in need of bus fare to get to those interviews. Just today, my friend and landlady, is now angry and impatient with me . She's also shortened the time frame for when I should leave the month-to-month rental agreement.

I applied for unemployment while I look for a regular job, only to learn that Uber doesn't pay Florida taxes for Drivers. As a hail Mary, my recourse is to apply for unemployment in a state across the country. And the unemployment rep in Florida told me that there's no guarantee that I'm covered for unemployment in California either. I was counting on the unemployment to cover my late rent. Now, I'm in dire need of funds to leave and go elsewhere.

So you see, I'm in a real jam and not very long to turn this negative into a positive one. Looking for a job is taking longer than I'd expect when recruiters are telling that they don't see my application in their system to review. Very frustrating, but I'm undeterred.
