Free Pads for Campus

My name is Emer Butler and I have one goal:

To never roll toilet paper up into a hand-made pad again.

Imagine the powerful impact that easy access to free sanitary towels can have on a woman's life?

I am the co-founder of ntombi.org.

In Zulu, 'ntombi' means 'girl'.

Our mission is to build controlled access dispensers to free pads for women on university campus and girls in high school.

We've already started this journey in our hometown at Stellenbosch University.

We built simple boxes to stock free pads in women's bathrooms on campus. We have now started the journey towards building automated, student-card responsive dispensers. The above video shows our first proof concept.

I believe in the power of social entrepreneurship.

And I am asking you to believe in it too.

I have been accepted to attend the Ingenious Faces Global Accelerator Program in India this coming January, 2019.

This is an opportunity to connect with other entrepreneurs, start-ups and entrepreneurially-driven, young people.

This is a chance to join a cross-border global startup ecosystem of mentors and investors.

The funds I am raising go towards covering the travel expenses of the entire trip from South Africa to India: air fare, VISA and passport documentation, and the conference ticket.

This conference ticket includes meals and accommodation.
