Campaign Story
Thor is my amazing 4 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback dog, who has sadly been very unwell.
I had a 'Thor Fund' in case of emergencies, but you wouldn't believe how quickly you can spend thousands of pounds once you go in to specialist care.
Thor is currently staying at a specialist veterinary hospital, where they are stabilising his condition and running tests. Sadly his condition is not straight forward as his symptoms do not all point towards the same diagnosis. His blood platelet count is very low, which makes him vulnerable to bleeding and means it is imperative that he stays in hospital until this is under control. It also means that he can not under go any operation or investigative surgery at the moment.
Staying in the hospital is £150 a day, in addition to his medication, extensive tests and treatment.
He is a much loved dog and is in the very best place receiving the best possible care. I will do every thing I can to make sure there are always sufficient funds to meet his needs, in order to keep one step ahead of his vets bills. Any assistance in achieving this would be greatly appreciated.
A big thank you to all of Thor's friends who asked me to set up this page and have offered to help.
He is such a brave boy, despite everything he still had a waggy tail for us when we visited today x
Please help us to help Thor x

Thor has a diagnosis
Update posted by Laura Breen at 08:29 amFinally we know what has been making Thor so unwell, he has two conditions, both primary hyperparathyroidism and an Immune disorder attacking his blood platelets. We are all very relieved as it could have been so much worse. He is on treatment for the immune disorder and will be assessed. . . . .
Thor is home from hospital awaiting more results
Update posted by Laura Breen at 08:15 amThor is more stable now and home from hospital, enjoying the comforts of his own basket while awaiting more test results. His medication is helping a lot and he is brighter in him self now that he's on the steroids, he has more energy and that tail is still wagging. . . . .

Laura, I am so sorry to hear about Thor. You do such wonderful work for so many dog owners, the least we can do in return is help when you need it. I hope this goes a little way towards his vet bill. Keep going, dogs are wonderful.

Sorry it's not much at all compared to the amount you need, but I really hope it helps.
