First major update

Update posted by Janis Grunte

Dear friends, supporters!

It has been a year since we launched a fundraiser campaign for the renovation of the Matras Methodist Church in Latvia. At the time, 15 backers from countries such as the United States, Finland and Latvia raised €1899 through gogetfunding.com platform. It was not enough to draw in a new wiring, but thanks to the generous addition of a donation from the Methodist congregation in South Carolina, we managed to bring the project to an end.

Cost-benefit calculation:

Income:

Gogetfunding 1899 euros

Donation from the UMC in South Caroline 1760,56 euros

Donation for the altar 1110 euros

Total: 4769,56 euros

Expenditure:

Fees: gogetfunding (93,67 euros), paypal (27,49 euros)

Video project 400 euros

Electricity (materials and tool hire 2247,93 euros) and labor costs (1693,70 euros)

Altar (materials 860 euros) and labor costs (660 euros)

Total: 5982,79 euros

BALANCE: -1213,23 euros

As far as electricity is concerned, the construction of the lightning protection system is the last project to complete sometime later.

In the summer of 2020, a team from the US will be joining us to install water pipes and plumbing to the church.

Thanks to everyone who supports us with prayers and funds. Together we will succeed.
