2020 A Lust for Life Schools Wellbeing Programme

  • We have just begun piloting our new schools programme to 5th and 6th class primary school students in 7 schools across Ireland. Post evaluation, by UCD and University Sussex, we plan to roll out Phase 1 to 100+ schools in 2020/21

2019 The Schools Wellbeing Programme

  • We developed a Netflix style platform that enables our children to access engaging mental health content in an accessible, fun and scalable way and designed to build psychological flexibility and resilience. Winner of the 2019 Google Impact Award and additional Judges Choice Award.

2018 launch of 7-part ‘Where There’s A Will' podcast series

  • Bringing together some of the best minds in Ireland’s mental health sector to deconstruct our mental health system, why it is failing us - and what we can do to create sustainable systemic change. c.15,000 subscribers as at September 2019. Winner of Mental Health Media Award 2019.

'When Words Fail' campaign launched in 2017

  • Amplifying creative work from those using alternatives to the written word to express and seek support.
  • First 'When Words Fail' Exhibition will be taking place later this year

2017 #SoundEffect campaign

  • Amplified soundness in Ireland to make the connection between being sound and mental health a social media reach of over 6m and acknowledged by the President and An Taoiseach.

‘The Little Book of Sound’ a pocket guide published in 2017.

  • c.10,000 copies sold nationwide, designed to share ideas on how to use ‘being sound’ to help our minds and our society.

'We live protected under each other’s shadow’

  • Unveiled by renowned artist Joe Caslin in partnership with A Lust for Life, a giant artwork highlighting how words can fall short of expressing deep turmoil & indeed hope.

A Lust for Life website reaching 4.6m people since 2015 to:

  • Gather and curate content from writers across Ireland who continue to break the silence on mental health.
  • Provide a platform for a diverse community of mental health professionals sharing tools, online courses and expert advice.

Innovative advocacy campaigns

  • e.g., #AnyonesBrother (to highlight the Dual Diagnosis issue) & ‘In Our Hour of Need’ (a partnership with Mental Health Reform, Future Voices & Uplift to call for 24/7 community- based mental health services).

Multiple partnerships with organisations such as Pieta House, Mental Health Reform, First Fortnight, Uplift and others

  • A Lust for Life consistently seeking to be the glue that binds other organisations together, to unify rather than compete.
