This is little Tasha, who came to my door very very hungry. I set her up in an insulated shelter in my yard only because she was afraid of me. She came every day for two weeks until it got colder then she seemed apprehensive and cold! Two nights ago she came out of the shelter which was not heated, and she ran somewhere. I have no way of knowing if she has another person helping her or if something negative happened to her. I did look for her and followed her footprints to a fence I cannot jump. She was a little sweet creature who either had no home, or one where she is not properly fed. It is so cold now I dont know if she will come or if she is alive. This is a tragedy, the pain they suffer, as obviously that shelter was not warm enough and she left to seek warmth and no I wonder if she is hurt, or worse and how much she has to eat. I need a better, bigger, heated shelter and I hope the hearts of others will help me raise funds to have some local high school students build it for these poor homeless kitties who keep coming to my door. :(

How would you like to be cold and alone in the dark? Dont you think this makes them feel bad? I do. I have seen their faces and heard their cries when they come to my door for food, so far, three of them, and I fear there will be more. Little TASHA here was not rescued because the weather turned bad on me and she left the shelter before I could trap her. Now, I thin she has a home that is warmer than my shelter, but I cannot be sure where this tiny girl thought she was running in the dark and cold. They are not built to survive the cold. Here are some facts about the kind of life these creatures have: Andrew Rowan former director of the Tufts University for animals and public policy, , estimates that between 60 and 100 million homeless cats live in the united states. Many of them are offspring of unalered home kitties, the victims of abuse and neglect. Many of them never had contact with a human being so they are naturally scared. Although they are scared, they are domesticated and not equipped to survive on their own. FERAL CATS DO NOT DIE OF OLD AGE. They are poisoned, tortured by cruel people, attacked by other animals, die by the elements, all painful deaths, like starvation or being hit by a car. It is the saddest thing you can imagine and they feel the pain. I am one person who wants to help them and I am asking in the name of TASHA and praying she is somewhere warmer but not well fed. If I had a warm shelter she may have stayed, but it was only insulated. I need one that is heated, and kitty ready. In order to have that I need monies to have it built so the next homeless kitty will be able to stay warm and not have to hide in a hole in the ground to survive. Doing this in her name could save many more after her . Please have mercy on these cold, hungry, homeless creatures and help me save them!
