If you know Guy, you know that he is one of the most kind hearted , loving , bubbly and caring people that you will ever come across. He has ALWAYS put the needs his family and others before himself - even if that meant that he came out second best.

Recently , our Guy was involved in an incredibly tragic incident that has resulted in him being in hospital indefinitely. After four long and painful weeks with a broken back , Guy finally had his operation on the 8th of November 2022 to fuse his lower spine so that he could begin healing. In addition, he has been recently diagnosed with a medical condition that Doctors struggled to regulate so that they could proceed with the opp. They finally got it down to a ‘stable’ level but this took some time - despite the fact that he was 1st on the operating list for almost a month. The surgery was the first step , but as you can imagine the next phase of healing is going to be intensive and EXPENSIVE. With this will come a mountain of costs, including his recovery which is going to take months of biokineticists , physios , medication , therapy etc… Never-mind his living expenses and all of the unexpected costs in between. At this stage, we aren’t sure what to expect and apart from how this incident has greatly affected our family , we remain hopeful that our Guy will regain full mobility, but above of all … that he will continue to be kind hearted , loving , bubbly and caring person that we know, love and adore.

He has a beautiful daughter, Isabella , who Guy is just besotted with. She is his entire world and we need to fight for her too! She loves her daddy.

Tragically, in 2020 , Guy’s family was ripped to pieces when his wife , Michelle had a brain aneurysm and was discovered in the early hours of the morning by sweet Isabella ( 4-years-old at the time). As you can only begin to imagine, this rocked his world and lead to 2 excruciating years battling with depression, isolation, loneliness and longing for his old life back - while trying to fight to hold his family together. This took a serious toll on Guys mental health and something he is still trying to overcome. As a family , we feel its best that as soon as he is able to sit comfortably for 2 hours, Guy will be coming to stay with his sister Christina, her husband Aquila, with the help of his mom, Nicky and his Brother Gabriel in Plettenberg Bay.

We are hoping that the change of environment , healthy ocean air , and ultimately , just being surrounded by heaps and mounts of love will expedite the process of returning him to full and good health in no time.

The smallest contribution is going to make the biggest difference as a lot of the costs have already come out of our own pockets. We do not have access to unlimited funds and the next phase is absolutely essential and can’t be done without any help. This has been both very hard and humbling for all of us but we need to look to the future and remain faithful. God has been good and has opened all of the necessary doors so far and we know that He won’t stop now.

Thank you for your willingness to contribute in any way, shape or form that you feel it possible. Be it financially, through prayers, or by simply sharing this to someone who might be able to aid in a way that you can’t/ don’t feel lead to. We appreciate it dearly. God Bless.

Its going to be okay! We love you , Guy Sankey.

Christmas is long gone, but the feeling in our hearts still remains. We are so incredibly grateful that Guy got another chance at life or the 25th of December would have felt VERY different. Look at that smile. It has been more than a decade since we all spent Christmas
