For a Trip to Zhongguo (China)

Hi, my name is Thabiso Terrence Kama, a 2nd year student at Rhodes University in Grahamstown. I'm majoring in Journalism & Media Studies and History. I came all the way from Cape Town to study at this university all with the main goal of one day providing for my single mother and 4 siblings. I'm the first born and the first to go to university which means a lot weighs on my shoulders at my young age of 20. I always grew up knowing what struggle and sacrifice felt like as my mother would go to work to food on the table and clothes on our backs. She still does having to work a 12 hour as a security guard to feed us all. She always wants to see the best for me and she has done all in her power to see go to university without any external support. This year I take up Chinese as one of my other modules and I really enjoy learning other languages having studied French prior to this. One of the perks of doing Chinese is having to go on tour every year. Well, only the top 20 go but I believe I worked hard enough to earn my spot on a plane to China. I have one obstacle standing in my way which is the flight money as it estimated at between R14000 to R15000, an amount my mother only makes in three months and having to consider that I'm not the only child. There are sponsorship deals with the top student getting a full expenses paid trip and the 3 getting a halfway ticket. I'm really working hard to obtain any one of these but I can't only really on hope as I have to make a plan to make that money in case I don't get the sponsorship. So this is why I'm here, begging that anyone who is willing to help can they please help if they want to and help this once in a lifetime opportunity come through for me and further lift the stress of my mother of her having to worry if I'm going and blaming herself of not being able to provide.
