Flying Medical Rescue Services for Africa

Millions of people from western countries are visiting Africa for business reasons, as diplomats, tourists or beeing sent by an NGO. There are evacuation and rescue services to fly visitors to clinics out of the country or to their home-country, in case of an emergency. Although these services are often essential when special clinical treatment is needed, victims of accidents need different services: qualified first aid and evacuation to the right clinic.

Yet, the general state of healthcare in most African Sub-Sahara countries is poor. Medical emergency services are rare or not available when tragical accidents happen. All this keeps the rate of deadly accidents high in these countries.

Med.Evac-Africa therefore intends to introduce flying medical services using light aeroplanes to be quick and affordable. Initially restricted to the international and business travelling community, little by little the service will be extended to as many people concerned as possible.

In fact, our motivation to launch this project traces back to related personal experiences since many years ago, which never really let us rest about it. Since recently, aviation technology has advanced to a level, which makes medical service flights possible in any region and at afforable cost. The flexibility of starting and landing almost vertical allows emergency first response on almost any terrain.

Med.Evac-Africa will safe lifes when seconds count, in remote rural areas, national parks, farms, lodges, mountains, rivers or mining areas. The widespread use of mobile phones and Internet allows the introduction of 24/7 regional emergency call centers.
