I have a friend that has 1991 Ford F150 Lariat XLT pickup that is needing some work done. If I can pay to get it fixed, I will be able to buy it for $500.00, paying $50.00 per month starting the first of October.
I have a mechanic that is willing to wait for payment on the labor if I can get the parts to have it fixed. For an estimate, the prices are as follows: Clutch is $157.61, exhaust is $257.99 and battery is $104.49. The mechanic stated that doing some checking around, it might be possible to get the parts cheaper.
The pickup has been sitting since 2010. The mechanic is going to drain both gas tanks, check and replace gas lines, brakes and brake lines as needed at no charge.
I was employed at the same company for 9 years working in the warehouse when they closed over 7 months ago. I live in a small town with few employment opportunities. population of 3200. The warehouse closing put 400 people out of work in the area.
I have been able to get enough odd jobs to pay my housing, utilities and necessities. I could not afford to keep internet, cell phone, car and other things.
I do not have any educational background and have always had manual labor jobs. I am getting an unheard of opportunity and very blessed. I received an offer for a job as an administrative assistant with a starting pay of $12.50 per hour with the stipulation of going to school to get my degree.
I know that it will not be easy, starting in August, I will be taking evening classes 3 nights a week and working a full time day job but it will all be worth it. I will be having a rough 2 years keeping up with my job, school and trying to get my finances back in control.
