Campaign Story
Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to stop by and look at this fundraiser. I know it's rather short notice, but this deal has mostly been worked out. Right now we would like to be able to put a sizable down payment on the house at closing. Though we can afford to get the house, a more sizable down payment (20% standard) would work better than 1/2% which is what we currently have after moving costs. Any and all help is much appreciated. We hope you enjoy the photos of the place.
Even though we are currently in a buyers market, it doesn't make any easier. We live in a community where the average house hold income is $72k a year and yet we only make $50k. It wouldn't be so bad but as they say you have to pay to play.
With renting prices always increasing, and other ever looming worries in todays society, we thought that perhaps it was time to make the investment. Especially with both of us coming up on 30 years old and the average home loan being 30 years, that puts us at nearly retirement age before the place is ever paid off!
Understanding that there will be other bumps and expenses along the way, a larger down payment on the place could be the difference of whether or not we are able to get it paid off before we retire or if we would even be able to afford the other expenses as they come up.
I know that there are a lot better causes to donate time and money to out there, and this is not meant to take away from them at all. It's just with people losing their homes because something happens and it becomes unaffordable, we would like to do what we can (including asking others for help before hand) to try and make sure we don't end up like that.
I know some people are looking at this and going nobodies donated to it yet why should I? Or they look at the amount and are thinking get real! If there's nothing ventured then there's nothing gained. Every mile starts with the first step. Etc.
Thank you for taking the time to read through this. I hope if nothing else you were able to enjoy the pictures of the place my wife and I will be calling home.

Closing Costs
Update posted by Sean Bradbury at 04:43 amAs of 1:43pm on 12/8/2014 we found out the seller was willing to pay 6% which should cover all closing costs! It's the little blessings that help so much. This means down payment, movers, etc will be our main concerns!
