First in family to attend university, need assistance to pay fees

My name is Sinovuyo Hlazo. I live in Kayamandi, a township in Stellenbosch, South Africa. It has been my dream since I completed Grade 12 in 2014 to study at university. In 2016, I re-wrote some subjects to qualify for university, obtaining an average of 65%. I was successful in gaining admission to the University of the Western Cape, where I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Communications.

I applied for a NSFAS loan for 2018, and was told that my application was successful. However, no funds were paid to my student account during 2018, and I have just received news that my eligibility for funding has been rejected. This has left me in a very difficult position, as I have outstanding fees from 2018, and am unable to re-register for 2019 until these have been paid.

My family is disadvantaged. I am the first to go to university, and my family have made many sacrifices for me to realise my dream. To see this dream continue, I would really like to once again appeal for your financial assistance in helping me to pay my outstanding fees from my second year of studies at UWC. I am motivated to build a career and to ensure that my family will have a prosperous future.
