We are a family of 4. A happily married couple with 2 beautiful, clever, amazing young boys aged 8 and 3. We recently relocated to Cape Town (Western Cape) from Pretoria (Gauteng).

We relocated in March of this year for safety and security of our family, after an armed robbery at our home AND my husband was mugged on 17 February, on his birthday. The mugging he only shared with me now as he says didn't want to add to our stress at a time where our safety and security was already under threat. Our eldest son was also displaying stress behavior at school after the incident at home. My husband was unfairly dismissed from work in November 2014 but won his case after appeal, but the payout was far less than needed as it took almost a year to get it. All these things contributed to our decision to relocate.

We have left our friends and family in Gauteng to make this move to Cape Town. This was a huge decision to make as we love them all dearly, but as we expected, our children have adapted very well as the external stress factors (like robberies and muggings) here in the Western Cape, are largely minimised compared to Gauteng. Making all our efforts to stay here, worth while.

Finding full-time employment in Cape Town has not yet worked out, but In the interim, we are falling behind on payments of rent, we have cancelled our medical aid ( a very needed thing in SA due to the state of government hospitals), we do not have a pension plan anymore and our car payments have also defaulted. We are trying to sell the car to get a cheaper one and remove that debt, but we still owe too much to be able to get a reliable car to replace it. Our 3 year old boy is also constantly ill as his tonsils need to be removed as well.

We have fallen behind on our rent and are soon to be evicted. We have asked all our close family members for help, but they are also not able to help.

Fortunately we do not have a lot of debt, but even payments to the little we have is now in arrears. We need to get up-to-date with payments so that we do not become a burden on society and lose our home.

This is the first time we have ever been in such a dire financial position where the roof over our head being taken, is a reality. We are trying to stay positive and motivated for our kids, but our financial stress is still filtering through to them, as the youngest one has started to display. Anyone with children will know that this is probably the most difficult thing to prevent, but it gets harder as we see the bills pile up. We are now again in a situation that if we do not sort out our personal finances, our children suffer.

We do not have ANY accounts that are for luxuries. Only schools, rent, the car and basic things like groceries.

We need help to get back on our feet after this huge move and again contribute positively, like we did in Gauteng. Getting loans is not the way forward as this will just get us into more hot water and is not the responsible thing to do.

Please assist and donate what you can to help. Our childrens' well-being is what concerns us most and this the main reason why we are reaching out to everyone for help. Those that know us personally, know that for us to go out and advocate our situation in this way is unexpected, but is in line with what we always tell others - to please ask for help when they need it.

We help where we can- now its our turn to ask for help.

Please please please help. We don't know what to do anymore :(

Even $1 is more than we currently have

Thank you for taking the time to find out what we need.
