Fill an oxygen Cylinder to save Covid-19 patients in Malawi

Update posted by greenwell Matchaya On Mar 03, 2021

Dear our donors

It is with great pleasure that we inform you that owing to your support, we have today been able to deliver the first set of Oxygen (5 oxygen cylinders) to Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe- Malawi through the Covid-19 treatment centre situation at the Bingu National Stadium. Another set of 5 oxygen cylinders at the Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre.

We will proceed with further supplies of PPEs to remote areas of the country in two weeks time. Our anticipation is that since schools are opened, and Covid-19 vaccines are are still generally not available in Malawi at the moment, we can be sure that the numbers will increase again and such PPEs for health workers will be crucial in preventing infections .

Once again, thanks to our donors, there in the United States, the UK, South Africa and Spain for the contributions. In total we we have been able to raise around $ 1300 within this short period we have run the campaign. Without your support we would not be able to do this. We convey gratitude and appreciation from Malawi's department of health and the Doctors Society of Malawi for your contributions!

We appreciate the donations of the 6 people some anonymous and some who have made themselves known on this platform. We are very thankful to your contribution!

With those new donations, we now are $200 dollars away from making our purchases of oxygen cylinders and PPEs. We will revert with a breakdown of purchase, where we bought them, and where we deliver them as soon as this is done.

Once again, thanks very much !!

Dear prospective contributors.

The Covid-19 satiation in Malawi continue to escalate, with many dying everyday while supplies in hospitals and public places are in acute shortage.

We continue to work to contribute to the solution and so, note that our campaign has now taken off, and many are viewing this page and at least one backer has donated 200 dollars. This makes the total we have including what we collected before launching this campaign here, to be an equivalent of about US$900 (includes donations in Rands and Malawi kwacha). This is a testament that people are placing value on the campaign goals and they have confidence in our ability to handle their funds while contributing directly to the purchase of supplies needed in Malawi.

Once we hit around 1500 USD , we will move to purchase the initial supplies and to be more effective we will do this with the guide of the Society of Medical doctors of Malawi- whose backing we have, as well as the Minister of Health in Malawi, whose call we seek to further.

Once again, thanks very much for your help and please donate and share the campaign with many others

Regards,
