The third attempt at the Coast to Coast and now there are three. Only the athletes remain. One fell before even starting, one fell last year and a decent holiday in the middle of training pushed him out this year. Only the three hardcore athletes remain.

Steve Tugwell - Has used a new approach to training but removing back boilers from his new house and tidying up the garden. Once again natural fitness is what he is relying on.

Richard Stewart - Walking up hills with his daughter due to his 'sore calf' has restricted his cycling. Once again relying on eating pies to get him through.

Gavin Buck - Has an approach that Dave Brailsford may want to have a look at. Riding his bike in preparation for a bike ride may sound a bit fanciful but might just work this year.

As we are going through some pain it seems like this could be put to some use so a bit of sponsorship would go amiss.

This year we are fundraising for a local group, 'Over the Rainbow - the child berevement charity'  are just starting the process of setting up a charity to help children get through the trauma of losing a parent. Bereavement is an experience that non of us will find easy to cope with but as a youngster this can change your life fore ever. When you lose a parent and the person you would naturally turn to for support is also grieving at the loss of a loved one a child can quickly become isolated, can become withdrawn and find communication difficult.

The charity aims to provide an environment where children are encouraged to talk with their parent with other children in the same situation all under the supervision of trained counsellors. The charity has a programme of events and trained bereavement counsellors ready to start but to get charitable status they need to show they have £5,000 of funding. This lets them apply for funding from other sources. They are almost there and an extra help will be gratefully appreciated.

Why 'Over the rainbow'.....

Time for me to go now, I won't say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, way up in the sky.
In the morning sunrise when all the world is new,
Just look for me and love me, as you know I loved you.

Time for me to leave you, I won't say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, high up in the sky.
In the evening sunset, when all the world is through,
Just look for me and love me, and I'll be close to you.
