Burgen and Chantelle Thorne are children's books illustrators. They decided to leave the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg and escape to the beautiful area of Mooi river.

With this, they spent time, dedication and love into building their home and life there. Backed up by their love for arts, they built a future for themselves. It took them years to develop their sanctuary and in a matter of minutes it was all torn down.

On 21 September 2019, Burgen Thorne was cooking dinner in their home in Mooi River. At around 8pm, 3 men smashed through the glass doors. They attacked Burgen, smashing a rock across his face and stabbing him multiple times. They also attacked Chantelle. They put a knife to her throat, threatening to kill her.

A knife wound hit Burgen's spine and kidney. He is paralyzed from the waist down. He has had to have plastic surgery on his face to restore some of the brutal damage. He is currently in Greys Hospital in Pietermaritzberg.

Burgen and Chantelle have no medical aid. Their jobs have been abruptly put on hold. Their life has been put on hold. This attack was brutal. We cannot allow them to suffer financially for it. In order to save their house and pay for some of the medical, rehabilitation and other expenses, we have started a fundraiser.

Please, any donation or a share would go a very very long way.

Lots of love.

  • Here's a little something from me and the Shenz63 Gaming community to help your aunt and uncle in their time of need, Seth. All of us wish them both a safe and speedy recovery from their very unfortunate and horrifying incident, and we hope that this donation can help them with the medical treatment and financial support that they need to get their lives back on track. Much love and all our blessings from Shenz63 Gaming.
