What is Falling Skies UK?
Falling Skies UK is a fan made, 'Not-For-Profit' production. The sole purpose of this production is to give the fans something extra to watch that's related to the greatest show currently on TV - Falling Skies. There will be 10 episodes with the potential for more all of which have already been written by myself and are all in script format just waiting to be used.
What will my money go to?
Well that's a good question and i'm sure it's one everyone would be asking so to sum it all up, I am asking for £2,500 and in this description i'll tell you exactly where your money is going :-
- £500 is required to pay the staff involved in this production from Crew members right through to the actors themselves. The £500 will be spread out over the course of the filming process which is scheduled for 3-4 months it'll help to provide healthy snacks, tea's and coffee's throughout the entire production.
- £1,400 is the total cost required for the cost for travel. Travel costs are for the cast, crew and all equipment that we will need to take with us to the various locations throughout the UK.
- £600 is the total required for hiring out the locations needed for filming. We will be filming most scenes at a warehouse in Glasgow but again it costs money to operate there as the owner has agreed a deal for the length of time we're going to be using it at a reasonably low cost however, we will need to hire out various other locations in the UK in Glasgow, Aberdeen, Manchester and London and the £600 will cover the total cost.
What is 2nd Watch?
2nd Watch is a weekly show which runs midweek between the last episode shown and the next episode to air of the main show. Cast and Crew members will be on the panel and you'll have the chance to ask them anything you want. Keep up to date with the series by following 2nd watch on YouTube. This is also a good thing for backer's because you can follow the show in greater detail and interact with us too.
To Conclude.
As you can see from the above it totals £2,500 give or take and it's that money that'll change this production from looking amateur to professional and it can only be done with your backing. I have already put £1000 or so into this project myself already and i'll continue to fund it as deep as my pockets can go because i am a fan of the original show but more importantly if it were someone else making a UK version or an 'anywhere else in the world version of Falling Skies', i'd likely to be expecting them to get it looking as professional as the original show and depending on the story telling maybe even as good a show as the original. In my opinion with the 10 episodes I've written so far and with the crew that's involved in this production so far, i believe that it's on it's way to being as good as the original show.
The fans and viewers worldwide will be expecting some great things from Falling Skies UK and with the £2,500 funding, it WILL most definitely be something spectacular.
