Exact Blade is seeking donors and investors for rapid expansion.  Exact Blade is an Edge Tool Sharpening Service based in North Suburban Chicago, serving Chicagoland and parts of Wisconsin and mail-in service from the entire USA. Exact Blade offers residential and commercial sharpening service, with knives being the main driver of the business. 

Exact Blade’s mission is to provide sustainability through proper maintenance of tools in home and commercial workplaces.  We have some goals to achieve, which of course first stars with our mission of sustainability through excellent service.  A near term goal is to start skills training programs for high school aged youths by teaching them how to handle,  fix or maintain a tool by hands-on training.  A longer term goal is to offer  Exact Blade franchise opportunities.

Exact Blade operates on four core principles of service, sustainability, environmental responsibility and skills training.

Service:  We are committed to providing the best knife and tool sharpening at a price point that allows our customers to return again and again.  Exact Blade offers a mail order service, drop-off or on-site sharpening services. Everyday, we post the location of our mobile truck on Twitter.  The truck is fully equipped to operate anywhere, anytime.

Sustainability: Our company name was derived from the founder’s passion for sustainability in general, but specifically for physical objects we use everyday that are subjected to wear and tear and often end up in landfills or are recycled prematurely. By precisely removing and polishing the minimum amount of steel, the finished tool will keep its edge longer, and last longer by having an almost “exact blade” edge.  Please visit our website at www.exactblade.com and click the tab “how we sharpen”.

Environmental Responsibility: Exact Blade sharpens most tools using a patented water cooled system from Sweden based Tormek. There is no dust or sparks produced in our process, so there is no risk of fire or air pollution.  The metal shavings are collected in a water trough and a magnet.  The used water and particles are discarded into garden beds that are responsive to iron and metals.

Skills Training:  Today’s Youth are missing opportunities for simple hands-on training opportunities.  The US Service Industry is becoming overlooked in teen counseling and guidance programs.  Exact Blade can teach any youngster, who often overlooks its usefulness or importance in everyday life, how to handle and maintain a tool. These “tools” include scissors, knives, chisels, screwdrivers, planers, loppers, garden shears, beauty shears,  lawn mower blades, drill bits, saws, axes, gouges and wood turning tools. Exact Blade needs your help.
