Everyone deserves an Education

KriyaiD was co-founded in Singapore by 2 friends (Devi Vijayan and Kumaravelu) who were bonded by a single vision that “Everyone deserves an Education”. While traveling to various countries, we realized that Singaporeans were gifted with good infrastructure that provided basic education to all. This is actually a luxury in other parts of the world. We could not deal with that..

We started off by conducting enrichment workshops in rural schools in India so that kids get excited to learn and break out of the poverty cycle. We wanted them to love Education and also be independent. We did this out of our own pocket for the first 2 years.

What started as a small ripple has been gaining strength over time. We have since started setting up small libraries with books that we obtain through book donation drives. At this juncture, we needed extra funds to keep the projects going.

We raised funds by conducting fundraiser sales where we bring together online retailers and small businesses and give them a platform to sell their products/services. We capitalised on our networking capabilities and made the businesses find it beneficial to be part of our events.. This actually grew and so did our following.



With amazing support from great friends and the KriyaiD family, we have embarked on 2 huge projects for the end of this year. We would be rebuilding a library/ resource centre in Kratie (a small province in Cambodia) AND conducting enrichment classes, setting up a library in a school in Karbinayak, Nepal. We need some extra push to make these two projects a reality for the angels there..



Our volunteers will manage the projects and where possible, employ local businesses in the villages so as to provide them with better opportunities.. We also realize that this creates a unified drive for education within the communities that we work with.. cos the businesses then form a bond with these schools that we set up together.
